Building Business. Enhancing Regional Strength. Expanding Globally

The Pacific Mountain Alliance for Innovation (PMAI) is developing the unique natural and human resources of our region. PMAI serves Thurston, Mason, Lewis, Grays Harbor, and Pacific counties and is transforming the region with the help of its many partners. The catalyst for much of this work is a $5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor called WIRED (Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development).

WIRED is connecting people and resources to transform the talent pool and strengthen the regional economy. Initiatives are industry driven; uniting business, government, labor, and education in the common goal of anchoring the region’s competitive advantage. WIRED is aligned with Governor Chris Gregoire’s economic vision outlined in The Next Washington. As stated in the conclusion, “Washington’s future will be built by investing in skills and innovation. We’ll keep making it easier to do business in Washington. We’ll keep growing our economy while protecting the natural environment and cultural diversity that make Washington a wonderful place to live and work.”

With a focus on high-wage, high demand jobs, WIRED targets the primary Industries of Construction, Manufacturing, Energy Technology, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Click on the work headings above to find out more.
