The Pacific Mountain Alliance for Innovation (PMAI) is a general membership organization, sponsored by the Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council (PMWDC). The Alliance is a strategic partnership from energy, manufacturing, and construction, economic development, education, workforce, and organized labor. The Alliance creates solutions within the five-county region that:

  • transform the regional talent pool
  • develop integrated and collaborative responses
  • expand the region’s economic base and
  • increase competitiveness in the global economy

The Alliance formed the Executive Leadership Council (ELC) to oversee and direct the resources of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development (WIRED) three-year, $5 million grant.

The ELC is the governing body of the Pacific Mountain Alliance for Innovation. The Council will have majority membership from private industry representing energy, manufacturing, construction and the sector of innovation/entrepreneurs. Organized labor will have one member for each of the industry sectors and the area of innovation /entrepreneurs. Education will have four members representing K-12, community/technical colleges, and four-year colleges. Economic development will have four members representing the region’s Associate Development Organizations (ADO’s), the Satsop Business Park, and Native American enterprises. Workforce will have four members representing the regional workforce system including the Chairperson of the Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council, the Director of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, the Executive Director of the Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council, and a member representing a training organization developing entrepreneurs. Each appointed member of the ELC may designate a proxy who will have the same authority as the member, in the event of the member’s absence from a business meeting. The ELC will elect a Chairperson from the private sector membership of the Council. The Vice Chairperson will act in the absence of the Chairperson and at their behest. Their affiliation does not limit the appointment of the Vice Chairperson.

THE EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP COUNCIL leads and assures the success of WIRED by:

Setting a strategic direction

  • Advocating necessary change
  • Promoting regional collaboration and identity
  • Approving Grant initiatives and directing resources
  • Developing public policy
