Pacific Mountain Alliance for Innovation

What is WIRED? (Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development)

WIRED is building our regional identity to ensure economic growth and global competitiveness. A three year, $5 million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, WIRED is creating the framework to attract business to the Pacific Mountain Region, strengthening established and emerging businesses in our communities, and expanding workforce skills.

It is a project of the Pacific Mountain Workforce Consortium and the Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council (equal opportunity employers and providers of employment and training services. Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to persons with disabilities).

Partners from industry, labor, economic development, education and workforce development are brought together to work in collaborative projects. High wage, high demand jobs are the focus in the targeted sectors of Manufacturing, Construction, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Energy Technology.

WIRED projects will highlight science, technology, engineering and mathematics skills (STEM) occupations; will produce a demonstrable economic impact; will offer innovative models that can be implemented across the country; and will create new and ecologically sustainable ways to do business.
